The VFW is a strong and ardent supporter of the men and women of the U.S. Military with both our time, money and influence. Who better understands the daily sacrifices America's service members make to defend our country than those who have gone before. We help service members weather long deployments through free phone calls home from overseas, provide emergency financial assistance to military families for those situations beyond the service members control due to military service and offer financial grants for unit celebrations helping boost morale.
We've been there! We understand! And "We're Here to Help."
If you are like most of us the one thing you miss the most about the service is the camaraderie that you shared with those you served with.
We know that you are proud of your service and that pride is something not easily explainable to those who have not served and that for the most part they just don't get it. We do.
The VFW was founded in 1899 by 13 war veterans specifically to take care of a fellow veteran who had become sick from malaria contracted during the Spanish-American War in Cuba.
For over 100 years the VFW has ensured that America's veterans are recognized and afforded opportunities to benefit from earned entailments.
As a veteran we believe you have earned a place in the front ranks of American Citizenship and we are proud to stand with you.
Thank you for your service, we appreciate it.
Community involvement is the very foundation of every VFW program. Working for the good of all citizens, VFW members perform hundreds of programs every day in their local communities donating over 13 million volunteer hours last year alone.
VFW Programs also include education on Patriotism aimed at stimulating love of country and a deeper appreciation of our national heritage.
The VFW is a place where every member can make a difference in their community, making it a better place to live.
