Get Help With Your VA Claim

Texas VFW Accredited Representatives are trained to assist veterans, dependents, and survivors with navigating VA benefits and claims. There is no cost for this assistance.

The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) also employs VFW Accredited Representatives throughout the state. If your area is not listed below, you can connect with TVC through their appointment system at https://tvc.texas.gov/claims/appointments/. TVC offers both in-person and phone/internet appointment options with VFW representatives.

Required documentation

Download and submit the following forms with your application package.

  • VA Form 21PDF • Download

    Box 7A should read “Veterans of Foreign Wars”. Answer all other questions as applicable to your pre-existing work information. The CONTACT information entered on this form will be what is published, so please make sure it is where and how you want veterans to find you.

  • Background Investigation CertificationPDF • Download

    Have your HR, personnel, or similar staff complete this form to certify a background investigation was performed when you were hired. We only need this form, not the full background investigation.

Obtain a copy of your last VA TRIP training certificate. This can be obtained by logging in at: trip.learnupon.com

Send all documents together to: miles@texasvfw.org

There will be a short period to verify information, usually less than one business day, and then the packet will be forwarded to VFW National Headquarters for immediate processing.

If approved, the applicant will be notified by email of the new cross-accreditation.
