VFW Membership
Membership in the VFW by Congressional Charter is restricted to men and women who have served honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States in any foreign war, insurrection or expedition. No others may join and there are no honorary memberships.
The VFW holds fast that veterans who have served in harms way to protect and defend our country have a common bond of experience forged in sacrifice and danger.

Here are the eligibility requirements for membership.
To be a member of the Texas VFW you must have a Texas mailing address or if you have an out of state mailing address you can change your post # to 15045 (Texas Member at Large Post) after you become a member and receive your card or fill out and mail in the application below.

VFW Auxiliary
The Texas Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary is here to serve the Veterans of this country and our communities in honor of the sacrifices and commitment of every man and woman who has served in uniform. We also strive to promote the memory of Veterans of the past by helping the living.
Our goals are to assist hospitalized and Nursing Home Veterans and their families. We are here to support the Texas VFW at all levels.

Military Order of the Cootie
The Military Order of the Cootie is recognized as a subordinate and auxiliary order of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. It is considered the "Honor Degree" of the parent organization and is governed by and under the control of the National convention, the National Council of Administration and the Commander-in-Chief.
Only active members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States are eligible for membership in the Military Order of the Cootie, and such membership continues and is conditioned upon retaining active membership in the VFW.
The objectives of the organization are to promote social and reunion features among the members of the order and to keep alive therein the spirit of optimism and humor so characteristic of the American service man.

The VFW Motorcycle Group of Texas
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Motorcycle Group of Texas is sponsored by a Post of the Texas Veterans of Foreign Wars and is dedicated to the ideals of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
Members must be of good character, meet all eligibility requirements of and be a member in good standing of the VFW.
